The Neuk (pronounced like ‘nuke’) , is the coastal stretch running from Leven on the south coast of Fife, all the way to St Andrews, the home of Golf. It takes in villages such as St Monans (with it’s windmill), Elie which has a Blue Flag beach and Crail one of the many villages in Fife famous for the red tile roofs which are a feature of the area.

The type of red clay tiles which roof of No. 14,  were first brought over to Fife as ballast on the trading ships from the Low Countries working the North Sea trade. The coast of this part of Scotland has many small ports and is rightly a delight for connoisseurs of seafood. With a world famous University, St Andrews has a strong Cafe Culture with a wide variety of choice when it comes to eating out, in addition to the Byre Theater which is quite literally on the doorstep!

Fife also feeds the mind with many historical locations ranging from the Royal Palace at Falkland situated below the Lomond Hills (a great walking location with stunning views) to the ‘Secret Bunker’, dating from the second world war, which is ‘the best advertised secret in Fife’ now that it is open to the public!
